How Can Scalp Infection Be Treated?

I ve had , and still do,a scalp issue as follows;patches of dry crusty scab like spots that itch and my hair has thinned about 30%(in the last year).I ve used all kinds of shampoos etc.,to no avail.A dermatologist thought it might be staph, without a lab test, and my g.p. doc thought maybe that scratching may have caused the problem, again, no lab work.I am 68 years young, with a healthy vanity. My diet is not fab, but not awfull either. I do have fibromyalgia, but genetically, both parents, myself, and children have always had thick hair. None have the scalp issues I have. HELP!

Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of scalp infection which is mainly due to nutritional deficiencies, fungal infection and hormonal changes. Need not to worry. You should take Indian gooseberry powder half spoon with warm glass of water. You should take plenty of fluids and diet rich in multivitamins. I would suggest you to consult dermatologist for proper examination and take antifungal treatment along with minoxidil spray. Keep scalp area massaged.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
