How Can Rosacea Be Treated?

I have rosacea and my Dermatologist prescribed clindamycin, because my husband s new insurance would not pay for sulfacetamide wash and lotion. This is a new Dermatologist, since my other one retired. My face is a mess with what I call baby pimples completely all over my fore head around the nose and moth area. I have never had acne on my forehead, except 2or 3 pimples. Do you think that the prescribed lotion is going to work? The other ones from my previous dermatologist always worked and fast. I look terrible at 58 years old and so embarrassed. Thoughts?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I understand your concern.

Clindamycin lotion contains the antibiotic clindamycin and will help clear up the infected pimples.

Azelaic acid can also be used for the redness. Discuss this further to add to your actual therapy with your dermatologist.

Hope this will help.
