How Can Red Spots On The Tongue Post Eucalyptus Usage Be Treated?
So I just got over a really bad cough and sore throat but now I have a stuffy nose and I am congested so I have been taking cough drops with methol and eucalyptus in it for about 1-2 weeks but now I think it might have caused some sort of reaction on my tongue because on the back it was almost like peeling and now it's red on some spots with lots of bumps but mostly from the back to the middle of my tongue.
Red bumps at the back and middle of the tongue along with peeling of tongue can be due to infection in throat only as the back of tongue is very close to the throat..
Also taking plenty of cough drops and menthol can also irritate the tongue and can cause inflammation of the tongue papillae..
Do not worry as they will subside gradually as the infection will resolve..
You should do warm saline gargles and antiseptic mouthwash gargles [dilute with water]. Suck ice pops or cold water rinses to reduce inflammation..
Avoid spicy and irritant foods and take soft and bland diet.
Hope this helps..
Regards..
