How Can Rectocele And Cystocele Prolapse Be Treated?

I have rectocele and cystocele prolapse. My Dr. wants to repair with surgery and also remove my uterus and ovaries as they would probably need to be removed at a later time. Sounds crazy to me as I have no problem with my uterus currently. I am 62 years old

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

As you are sixty-two years old, your ovaries and uterus are atrophied and nonfunctional so no need to preserve them. Secondly, cystocele and rectocele are cured surgically with hysterectomy in postmenopausal age. Your doctor is right.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Varinder Joshi
