How Can Psychotic Depression And Suicidal Thoughts Be Treated?

I had an episode of extreme mania several years back after a divorce. Classic the doctors said, crazy shopping, tatoo, sex with two strangers and being picked up by police 4 times hospitalized 3times over a few months span. Doctors T that point said I Should be on a mood stabilizer the test of my life. Two years ago I went off mood stabilizers and Only take zoloft. It has helped but I fight suicidal thoughts frequently. My phsyc Dr said I had a physcotic depression and that I am not bipolar.

Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,

If you have severe suicidal thoughts, you have to undergo electro convulsive therapy.

It coukd be psychotic depresssion or bipolar as l need to know some more details like overtalkativeness, disinhited behavior etc.

Definitely you need to be started on antipsychotics, depending on the situation, mood stabilizer need has to be taken care of.

Discuss with your doctor regarding these symptoms.
Thank you
