How Can Psoriasis And Fungal Skin Infection On The Buttocks Be Treated?

my husband (age 73) has had the diagnosis of psoriasis, fungal or bacterial infection causing lesions on both buttocks. Through several dermatologists and their recommendations, all lesions have resolved except for one just inside the buttock cheek. Most uncomfortable. Cannot cover it, he is allergic to adhesive. What can I use to get this to heal and make him comfortable.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

First of all it's sad to know what your husband had been going through lately.

Based on the history you have shared, around genital and mucosal surfaces low dose steroids topically can be used for the better response.

1 per cent hydrocortisone alongside liquid paraffin and vaseline solution can be helpful.

For itching oral antihistamines like Cetirizine can be used.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
