General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

First of all, she needs weaning from the breast feed. Her mother would need medicines like Mixogen twice a day for 10 days to avoid breast engorgement. Expression of milk is to be avoided.

Once the baby stops feeding, take the baby away from the mother for 15 days. She may be disturbed and troublesome. You have to withstand that. Try to entertain her and keep her happy, make her forget about breast feed (it can be easily done as she does not see her mother).

Give baby milk based food like custard creams and let her have a separate plate with the other family members during both the times when you have meals.

Cook food according to the child's taste. All vegetables, salads, fruits, pulses and cereal-grains should be served; encourage the child to eat and drink milk with protein powder (chocolate flavour). Some multivitamin drops are to be added as per her doctor's advice.

Encourage her to play with her age group and sleep well.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
