How Can Pneumonia And Recurrent Seizures Be Treated?

There is this nice elderly lady that is always at the mall where I work. She has made friends in almost every store. She says she has no family and enjoys having company so we are all like her family, and as family we are concerned. She has Pneumonia and is prone to seizures and we had to make her leave on of the stores because there are two people there that it could kill if they got it. We convinced her once to go to the hospital but she didn t want to stay. Today we had to make her leave again. So I guess my question is, how do we help her?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I would suggest getting a chest X-ray, sputum culture with sensitivity done. I am assuming that she is already on medicines for the seizures.

So once you have the reports, you can upload them on our website and we will try to tell you what medications should be initiated. I am assuming that is the best way we can help you help your friend.

I hope this helps.

Best wishes,

Dr Mittal
