How Can Phimosis Be Treated?

i am uncircumcised. over the past few years my foreskin has started adhering to my glans. where it does so there is like a band of yellowy looking skin, but not pussy. i can peal the foreskin away from the glans by stretching the skin, but the skin then becomes sore with little lesions where it has come away from the glans. i wash my penis daily and retract my foreskin whenever i urinate and in the shower to clean. i am 41 and have seen a gp about this once, she said everything looked normal, but i know what is normal for me and things arent at the moment. what do you recommend?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Since you are 41 years of age and recently developed Balano-posthitis as described by you the commonest cause of such an occurrence is diabetes.
I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Continue cleaning with plain water twice daily and retract skin. Keep the area dry.
Avoid hot and humid atmosphere.
Use loose clothes.
First of all get the Blood sugar and HbA1c checked and get treated for diabetes if positive; this along can cure you.
If the problem still persists then the obvious treatment is circumcision.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
