How Can Peripheral Neuropathy Be Treated?

I am a diabetic and I have been told I have neuropathy in both legs. I have been having tingling and sharp sensations in my left leg. It feels like my leg from my knee down wants to unloosen. In fact I fell this afternoon while walking in my house.I am not in my home town to see my doctor. I am on vacation. Anything I can do before I go home?
