How Can Periods Be Delayed?

Hi my wife got her last period on 7th of September and is expecting her period on 2nd October as per her regular cycle of 25 days however we want to delay it by a week since we are going to our native place for some religion occasion. We have consulted a doctor the same and he has suggested deviry 10 mg twice a day from 25th September till the day she wants to delay the period. We are a newly married couple and are going to plan in December so is it safe delaying the periods now, kindly suggest.

Hi and welcome to Ask A Doctor service. I have read your question and here is my advice.
Yes divery can be used to delay the periods, generally it should be started few days before periods that are aimed to delay. Mostly it is a safe drug and does not cause any worry most of the times.
Hopes i have answered your question , please dont hesitate to ask any more questions about this.
