Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I have been diagnosed with a papilloedema in my left eyeand the only treatment is surgery because I had a radiotherapy because of a meningioma located on my optic nerve which caused my cecity : no vision right eye. the MRI in July concluded no extension of the meningioma size . My vision field , left size seems to show a slight change. I do not want to have this skull surgery because despite the meningioma size is stable the neurosurgeon wants me to agree for open surgery and he indicates me that it won t necessary help to improve my sight in my left eye which is actually good and I might have consequences like walking disorders after this surgery I avoided by having the radiotherapy in 2011. I am so desperate, what do you think ? Elisabeth FRANCE

How Can Papilloedema In The Left Eye Be Treated?
Hello, As per my surgical experience, the meningioma compression removal is the only curative way to control papilloedema. Sorry to say but I do not see any other way than surgery. Either you have to proceed with the same or take risk of surgery outcomes. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
