How Can Panic Attacks Be Treated?

Hello, I really need help! Ive been having panic attacks for awhile now and about 2 weeks ago I believe what it is, is Derealization, I feel detached from myself and as if everything around me isn t real or I m not seeing from my own eyes. its long term so its constant and never goes away. I have a severe fear of dying this young from something that I might have. I Also have a constant feel of not being able to breathe properly and it keeps me awake at night.

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Panic attacks sometimes can accompany with derealization. You should consult a psychiatrist for this condition. At present you require SSRI group of medicines like Paroxetine and Clonazepam during panic attacks for instant relief. You should take this treatment for at least a year. Meanwhile, some relaxation, exercise, and meditation will also help.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Prashant Gohil
