Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I ve been diagnosed with shingles but my symptoms have changed somewhat. I am experiencing slight nausea every once in a while. The pain in my back stops when I walk or move around. I only have 3 sores on my back. The pain in my back started out on the lower left side but now it also hurts around the side and in the middle (still on my left side). The pain is deep and moves around to my groin area but the pain in my groin area is not as severe. Yesterday, the pain in my back was excruciating - today medium. Could it be kidney related?
Hello and welcome to HCM. Thanks for putting up your query over here. Though even after medication for shingles ,pain and tingling may still persist at the site. But the pain is constant type. The pain you describe goes till groins,is excruciating, comes and goes and is deep.Yes ,it can be kidney related mainly due to renal or uretric stone. If I were your treating doctor,I would recommend , -Anti spasmodic like meftal spas or dicyclomine for relief of pain. -Intake of adequate quantity of water, minimum 8-10 glasses of water a day. -Adequate rest -Investigations like USG abdo will confirm the diagnosis. Visit to urologist/general surgeon will be needed in case of non relieving symptoms. Hope this information helps. Thanks
