How Can Painful Shingles Be Treated?

I have shingles, and it has been four weeks since the pain started. The rash and blisters have healed, but I m still dealing with the pain. Also I m having difficulty using the muscles (upper right arm and shoulder) that are activated by the infected nerve. Is that normal and how long should I expect that to last

Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to shingles.

Some advice that I can give to you are:
Use antiviral cream for local application such as Acyclovir cream.
Use antiviral tablets for systemic treatment.
You can use anti-inflammatory medication for the pain such as Ibuprofen.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
