How Can Painful Arthritis In The Knees And Back Be Treated?

I suffer from chronic pain due to arthritis in my knees and back. After 1 1/2 years taking Gabapentin (no changes in dose age) I ve apparently become highly allergic to it and must discontinue it. What are alternative medications that I might be able to tolerate?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Chronic pain can be very difficult to handle. Gabapentin is one of the medications for chronic pain but there are others.

Gabapentin was initially used to treat seizures, there are other seizure medications that are also effective such as tegretol, lyrica.
Medications such amitriptyline can also be used.

Unfortunately tolerance would not be known until you start the medication.

I hope this helps
