How Can Pain In The Rib Cage Be Treated?

was playing golf yesterday and bent over to pick up a ball while riding in a moving cart , it sounded like all the bones in my right rib cage were crunching. All night i could not sleep on either side and got couple hours sleep sitting upright in a chair. This morning i can hardly take a deep breath if im in the wrong position and constant pain. anything short of wasting a doctors visit who gives me a fancy name for advil or alieve i can do ?

Hello thank you for writing us here.
Bending over pulled your muscles and causes severe pain. Don't worry you just need to take diclofenac sodium gel on the affected area and use NSAIDs like ibuprofen or paracetamol which are analgesics as well. You'll feel better within a week.
God bless you.

Best regards,
Dr Gunjan
