How Can Pain In The Neck, Shoulders And Arms Be Treated?

Looking for a moist or infrared heating pad for arthritis/muscle spasms/cervicalgia in neck, pain that leads to head and shoulders, sometimes arms. Was told to use heat. What s the best heating pad out there for this with something that covers entire neck, where hurts most (guessing back of head pain starts from neck). I also need something scs friendly, as I didn t read far enough on amazon about a jade stone infrared one and probably would have been awesome but says not to use it with any type of implant. I m tired of researching and just know dry heat is horrible, help please

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As a first line management, you can take analgesics like Paracetamol or Aceclofenac for pain relief. If symptoms persist you can consult an orthopaedician and plan for an MRI scan to rule out possible tendon injury.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
