How Can Pain In The Left Wrist And Arm Be Treated?
PULLING UP A PATIENT IN BED, NOW I HAVE A SHARP PAIN THAT RADIATES FROM THE BASE OF L WRIST (IN LINE WITH PINKY FINGER) DOWN MY ARM... INCREASED PAIN WITH MAKING A FIST IN SAME AREA AND I CAN HARDLY PICK UP ANYTHING NOW WITH THAT HAND DUE TO PAIN. NO SWELLING NOTED. PAINFUL WHEN ROTATING WRIST..... FEELS LIKE SOMETHING IN MY WRIST NEEDS TO POP AND THE PAIN WOULD GO AWAY....... AT REST THE ENTIRE ARM ACHES
While pulling up the patient, you in all probability have sprained your wrist joint. You may get an X Ray taken to rule out any bony injury. If the is none, all what you have to do is to give complete rest to your hand till the sprained ligament heals completely. This may even take three weeks or so.
