How Can Pain In The Head Be Treated?

Slipped and hit my head on the wall . Had a headband On as well as my glasses on top of my head. When my head hit the wall the glasses pushed the teeth of the headband in my head and caused a small gash. My head was bleeding a bit. It came down my face and sides of my head. It is no longer running just bleeding a little surface. Head hurts of course. How should I treat it or what signs would I have if need to go to ER.

Hi,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com.

I had gone through your question I can understand your concern about your head injury.

As per your history you need a wound management tips. You can wash the wound with normal saline or hydrogen peroxide. You must apply a bandage so that the tissue bruised should not contaminate and get infected. You can also need a tetanus toxoid shot if you have not taken during last six months.

Now coming to your query, if you feel any dizziness, loss of consciousness or weakness in any particular organ like arm, leg, hand etc you need to visit an emergency room.

Hope my answer will help you and you can visit us back in case you feel any further assistance required.

Regards
Dr Muzaffer Hussain Parray.
