How Can Pain In The Arm Be Treated?

My 12 year old daughter has been complaining of pain in her arm for three days now. The first night, she had trouble sleeping from the pain. Pain relievers help short term. She plays softball and I am unsure if it's just a muscle strain or if i should take her in.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

If she is resting the arm and noticing at least a little improvement each day, she can continue to rest the arm and does not have to be brought in. If the pain is not improving, she should be seen.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
