How Can Pain Around An Ear Piercing Be Treated?

I got an auricle (basically cartilage) piercing about two days ago.My mum is saying that I should twist the ring so that my piercing does not become stuck but it hurts a lot to move it!There is also slight red crusting around it.I researched and apparently the crusting is a good sign as it shows that the piercing is healing. My piercer says that I show use alcohol swabs to clean it (but my daily) and my friend who got one about two weeks ago says I should apply polyfax. But I don t know what to do...It s very painful to move it.Should I apply polyfax? And then move it?Or will the polyfax enter my body when the ring twists and goes inside my ear?

Cleaning and rinsing it alcohol swab is a great idea to heal the wound. And your mother is right. Keep on twisting the ring...it helps you in two way. one- there will be enough space for air to go through your wound..and air is the prime source of healing in many cases and second- the ring will not get stuck. if you feel too much pain that you are not at all able to tolerate it...then you can take paracetamol 100mg to get rid of pain.
Thanks
