How Can Pain And Stiffness In The Knees Be Treated?

HI, I ve been told that oil of oregano can help with the discomfort due to a knee replacement. My surgery was done in 2015 but the cold weather causes considerable stiffness and some pain. Is this the best natural item or can you recommend something else.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Oregano oil is a good natural treatment for discomfort to the knee with stiffness and pain. If this is not reducing the pain, then, oral analgesic should be used together with alternating warm and cold pads.

Other natural alternatives I can suggest turmeric, willow bark, cloves (as supplement or as tea or as food flavoring). Acupunture is also another alternative if they are not helping.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
