How Can Pain And Pressure In The Finger Be Treated?

Hi, I have a smashed fingernail, happenened 1 week ago. I still have a lot of pressure and some pain, but I have not had anyone drill a hole in the nail to release the blood and pressure. Is it too late to do so? What happens if I don t do it.? How long before the nail will come off? It was really smashed at the base of my nail. Thanks.

Hello
Thanks for writing to us.

Its not too late yet. I would advise you to see a good surgeon who can help you in this. The smashes part needs to be cut off from your injury site. Only then, there would be proper blood circulation. And then only your wound will be healed.

Thanks
Dr. Tripat Mehta
