Hi,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com.

I had gone through your question I can understand your concern about your numb arm and hand.

As per your history it is only one day old symptom that seems to because of compression to the nerve during sleep. Sometimes the compression may cause reversible damage to the nerve for a little period but if your symptoms worsen and their is any neck pain or arm pain also related you must visit an orthopedic surgeon for further evaluation.

It seems to me the the nerve compression but can also be cervical problem or muscle spasm too.

Hope my answer will help you and you can also write to us if you feel further assistance needed.

Regards
Dr Muzaffer Hussain Parray.
