How Can Numbness And Saddle Paresthesia Be Treated?

Hi, I have saddle parathesia, and numbness to the lower legs. Cauda Equina was ruled out by 2 mri s. I was told it was an 8 to 10 week wait for a neurologist appointment. I cant wait that long as I have bladder and back passage problems. I have arranged a private consultation at expense I cant afford. Spent three days out of five this last week in A&E

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advise.

If spinal problem is ruled out by MRI then start Vitamin B12 therapy. Cyanocobalamin injections are available, initially daily for 1 week. F/B weekly for 1 month and then monthly for 6 months. If symptoms not improve after 2-3 moths consult neurologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Hiren Hirpara
