How Can Normal TSH Levels Be Maintained?

I am on thyroxine and have had my thyroid gland killed. My T4 levels are in the normal range 1.5) but my TSH is low (0.16). The doctor wants to lower my meds, but when I take a lower dose of thyroxine, I do not feel well and don t function well. What can I do so that I feel normal, but have the correct levels of TSH?

Hello,

Depending on available data in question, you are a case of hypothyroidism means slow thyroid and taking thyroxine. As per guidelines free T4 levels are not target its more important to keep TSH levels in a good mid range (T4 is useful in hyperthyroidism)

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
