How Can Myelodysplastic Syndrome Be Treated?
I have myelodysplastic syndrome. Medicare says it cannot be treated until my hemoglobin is below 10 I have experienced weeks of headaches and I am dizzy and shaky. I don’t see my doctor for another two weeks. Can the symptoms be caused by low hemoglobin?

Myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) is myeloproliferative neoplasm. It is form of blood cancer. I want to know which type of MDS you have to give more comment.
The prognosis is not much good in MDS. Bone Marrow transplantation is ultimate treatment for MDS. Low hemoglobin can lead headache and dizziness.
In MDS, hb level can go down and so such symptoms can occur, so check your HB. Consult hematologist for examination and discuss your management plan.
