Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Botox is approved for chronic migraines, which means headache on 15 or more days a month. “The more frequent the headache, the better the patient does with Botox. Sumatriptan is used only in the treatment of acute attack of migraine. It's not used to prevent migraine.

I would like to advice beta blockers like Propranolol or Atenolol,
Calcium channel blockers such as Flunarizine, certain antidepressants like Amitriyptline or Fluoxetine for the prevention of migraine.

One of the above mentioned drugs to be titrated to the ideal dose. If not effective alone, another drug from different drug classes are used to complement each other and reduce the risk of side effects associated with each of the medications given in high doses.

Magnesium salts such as Magnesium oxide or magnesium chloride are also recommended for the prevention of migraine.

Besides, you also need to avoid certain 'triggers' for the migraine.

I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you have any further questions.
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
