Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The altered smell could be because of sinusitis. The inflammation has been relieved by Azelastine nasal spray and oral steroid. Sinus rinse help in removing any necrotic tissue and debris, if present. So with all these treatments, you have been improved.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
