Thanks for contacting HCM with your health concern
1. It could be an example of Traumatic/Psychological Amnesia where she was a victim of violent crime [since Scan reports are normal which might have excluded other possible causes of
memory loss ], However check with a specialist [Neurologist/Psychologist] to specifically rule out causes like:
Dementia, Alzheimer's disease,
depression.
2. Although in majority of cases amnesia resolves by itself but if any physical/mental cause is found it has to be treated for which:
-
Psychotherapy [hypnosis], working with an occupational therapist, and Learning various strategies for organizing information [like smartphone to remember important events, appointments, commitments] can be of great help
- since currently there are no drugs for the restoration of amnesia, thus targeted nutrition can help, as such
Thiamine [ Vitamin B1] can be given either as supplement and can be found in whole grain cereals, legumes, nuts, lean pork, yeasts.
