Hi,
Thanks for the query. I understand your concern.
Give her plenty of boiled water with salt &sugar(or ORT powder).. to prevent dehydration.
Esily digestible food with least of spices &oil ( like boiled rice, sago pudding, curd milk, light tea or coffee)can be given.
You can give either Norfloxicin(preffered) or Amoxicillin along with Metronidazole .
In case there is no relief-she needs stool examination with culture &sensitivity as per expert advise fillowed by specific treatment.
Consult a children specialist .
Thanks.

General & Family Physician Dr. Ashakiran S's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
What doctor has prescribed the medication with combination of Metronidazole and Norfloxacin is right for diarrhea as your daughter must be having diarrhea due to gastrointestinal infection.
It is not necessary to give Amoxacillin as there is no idication as such, and this antibiotic is given to treat respiratory infection. Moreover, amoxacillin itself can cause diarrhea as side effect.
Kindly give the medication containing Metronidazole and Norfloxacin syrup as per the dose prescribed and do the necessary follow-up as suggested. Keep the child hydrated by giving good quantities of water and liquid based diet.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
Best wishes.
Regards,
Dr.Ashakiran.S.,
