How Can Left Anterior Hemiblock And PVC S Be Treated?

Hi. I am 52 years old, male, scheduled to undergo a routine colonoscopy using conscious sedation this Friday. I have experienced PVC s over the years (maybe 3-5 per day at times, often combined with a heart beat of 90-100) and I also have a diagnosed left anterior hemiblock which was extensively tested (through a nuclear heart test) and found to be benign in 2008. Am I at any significant increased risk of difficulties with the conscious sedation in light of these factors?

Hello,

ECG finding of left anterior hemiblock (often degenerative /age-related) and occasional PVCs should not be of any risk factor for a procedure like colonoscopy.

Conscious sedation is usually given before colonoscopy in the United States, although a willing patient and a skilled examiner can complete the procedure without sedation in many cases.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Thank you.
