How Can Knee Pain Due To Arthritis Be Treated?

My sister has horrible knee pain because of arthritis. The surgeon who operated on her leg because of an automobile accident has suggested that she use Pennsaid for her knee pain. Her primary care doctor does not want her to use Pennsaid at all. What is your suggestion?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Pennsaid ( diclofen)is quite effective for pain in joint. The doctor who operated knows , how long to use it. It has side effects only if taken in prolonged use, like in self medication. Must respect your doctor & have faith in his advice,
