How Can Itchy Sores On The Skin Be Treated?

Yes I have thyroid disease lately I have had sores that occur that start out looking like pimples only they hurt and don t have any puss in them. They last for several days and sometimes weeks. Now I itch and I am getting more sores like small welts they hurt deep down. More aggravating than hurt I guess. They are leaving small scars because I scratch at them. I thought at first maybe stress but I don t think so now.

Hi.
As per your case history you are having prurigo nodularis.
My treatment advice is -
1. Don't squeeze the lesions as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild topical steroid cream like mometasone cream on the lesions twice daily.
3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral steroid like prednisone or betamethasone taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Thanks.
