How Can Itching On The Upper Arm Be Treated?

I have a severe itching around a bandage in my upper arm securing a tube feeding a medication (milrinone) into my heart in order to strengthen my ejection fraction. I have tried cortizone 10, with only a minor relief that doesn t last very long. I am looking for a solution to this problem that does not involve a cream (which might loosen the adhesive on the bandage). Please advise me on this. This itching is even causing me not to be able to sleep.

Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I reviewed your query and here is my advice.
The corticosteroids can't be effective since you still have the allergens inserted that triggers the allergy.
You should take them off and substitute it to something that is allergen free.

Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
