How Can Itching On The Penis Be Treated?

Hi. 3 days ago my foreskin and back of the head of penis near foreskin was very itchcy. I scratched it by mistake and then a water bubble appeared on the head of penis. The back of penis is inflamed but not itchy anymore however the water bubble skin came off and it s continuously oozing out clear liquid. I did go to the gp and was told that it looks like a bacterial infection, was given supiroban ointment to apply. No antibiotics. Please advise on how to stop the oozing.

Hello,

It could be eczema or superficial fungal infection. As a first line management, you can apply low potency steroid creams like betamethasone for symptomatic relief.

If the lesion persists, it is better to consult a dermatologist and get evaluated. You can also take antihistamines like pheniramine for itching.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
