How Can Itching In The Inner Thigh Be Treated?

I am a 49 year old woman. Had a full hysterectomy 5 yrs ago. I have been shaving my public hair and groin/inner thigh area. I have an itchy rash on my right inner thigh that is black n blue and very itchy. Have had it now for a few weeks. Used corizone, anti-itch cream, A&D ointment. It won t go away. It s about 4 inch long that runs down inner thigh but outside of where underpants hit on my actual thigh.

hi mam,it’s a very common to have itchy rash in that area due to constant friction between the thighs.the best relief is seen with clotrimazole dusting powder for external application.twice or thrice daily application after drying the area is recommended.most of my patients reported a great relief within 2-3 days of application.the following measures combined with the above medication would make a great difference.
1)please avoid excessive moisture and always keep the area dry.
2)daily application of dusting powder after shower is recommended for 14 days.
3)change of sanitary pad every 6hrs during menstrual period.
4)regular shaving can be done but caution about minor trauma that can make your skin easily prone to infections.
5)also strong chemical hair remover application is to be avoided.
don’t worry.its only a minor problem and with the above therapy, you can get relieved from symptoms as well as prevent the recurrence.hope my clarification helps you in reducing your distress.any further questions, please let me know.its my pleasure to address your concerns.thank you.take care.bye.
