How Can Irregular Heart Beats Be Treated?

I have been used the Atenolol to treat my blood pressure and irregular heart beat for two years, it works good. But, recently the supply of Atenolol have some problem. My doctor changed my medicine to Metoprolol. Please let me know what is the difference between the two medicines?

I can understand your concern.
Metoprolol and atenolol are beta blockers.
Both are classified under same group.
But metoprolol is newer, cardio selective beta blocker. It acts only on heart and blood vessels. So it is highly specific.
Atenolol is non selective beta blocker. It affects heart and other organs also.
So metoprolol is better than atenolol as far as efficiency and specificity is concern.
