How Can Influenza Be Treated?

Hello, my son (age 15) was diagnosed with Influenza A on Monday morning. He s been on Tamiflu for 2 days now. Fever is gone even without meds. Seems to be feeling a lot better but still coughs occasionally, When can he head back to school? Thanks!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

He can go back to school when his energy levels are improved and he feels he can tolerate a day at school well without being too tired.

If he is not coughing or sneezing excessively (which can cause other children and teachers to be infected), then he can also a candidate for return to school.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James
