Hi,

The normal range of TSH levels is 0.4 to 4.0 milli-international units per liter. Value above the normal range usually indicates that the thyroid gland is underactive. This is called hypothyroidism. In such a case, thyroxine needs to be supplemented. It would take about 6 months for the activity of the gland to function as normal, under the medication. Kindly consult your doctor for clinical evaluation and appropriate management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
