How Can Hyperthyroidism Be Treated?

i was just diagnosed abot one month ago with hyperthroidism. I was put on Methimazole 10mg twice a day. i am not sure how long this medication is suppose to kick in as i still feel horrible anyway i am tyring to be patient. My skin on my feet is stripping amd looks horrible. could this be one of the symtoms?
