General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The breathing difficulty seems to be side effect of hydrochlorothiazide if consumed for the first time. Presently can do deep breathing exercises, drink more liquids and observe for next 1-2 hours, if feeling ok then can wait for next week otherwise have to contact ER.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
