My husband has hyper glycemic Chorea and his neurologist id try some medication to help him with the tremors first he was on Benztropine at 0,5 mg she stated him off slow and then incresed the dose gradual but on 3 mg a day he was very confused and slept most of the time he did not even remember how to spell his name and he could ot remember how to change his iliostomy or that he had one what a mess then and now she started him on a drug called Trihexyphen 2mg he stated at 1/2 tab 2x a day for 2 days then last night at 6p he had the full dose tablet but at 9pm his tremors had not stopped...so that told me right away it is probably not the drug for him. He is scheduled to have an MRI of his head tomorrow am but I know he is not going to be able to hold still enough for them to do that. I have read on this diagnosis that many times within 6 moths it goes away....well wonderful but I know he just cannot wait or put a hold on his life because of this dam thing and I was hoping that the medication would work now I am wondering by changing the meds back and forth if that is causing more damage?
