Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
1. Since symptoms have been started after undergoing a surgical procedure, thus follow up with your attending surgeon will be the best option at this point, however, examine and investigate the patient thoroughly for: Hb%,
WBC,
ESR & Urine routine. H.I.V. test as routine. X-ray chest.
Ultrasonography of abdomen. Serum T3, T4,
TSH. Though many of the fevers in general practice are viral and harmless, one must be aware of the common causes of the fever, and the symptoms & warning signals suggesting that this may not be a simple fever. One should always try to find the cause of the fever by evaluating the associated symptoms. Remember that tonics and injections alone are not going to help to build the body mass, good food, & exercise must accompany the medicines for a substantial gain in weight.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Munish Sood
