How Can High Blood Pressure Be Treated?

I am a 60 yr old female. I m monitoring my blood pressure because I m on a high fat lower carb diet and have lost about 20 lbs. I am obese and started this diet weighing in at 296lbs. I have been on Lisinopril for about 2 years now and I want to be sure as I lose more weight that my blood pressure doesn t get too low. Today my bp was 133/75 but my pulse was 103. Should I be alarmed? It usually is in the mid to upper 70s.

Hi There

After going through your query I understand your concern.

I would like to tell you that ideal BMI for a hypertensive person should around 25-30. If you will loose more weight its not going to effect you blood pressure as of now. Follow your low carb diet and include brisk walk of 40-45 min 5 days a week for a better controlled blood pressure.

Its recommended for to do follow ups with your dietitian and Physician.

Hope this will help

Kind Regards
