How Can Hernia In The Groin Area Be Treated?

I have a bad hernia just above the top area of my left leg. In my groin that is bulging into my left testicle area. I had one on the right side a few years ago. Then less than two years later I had one just below my belly button. Those two healed OK. For the one I have now I have some questions. 1. Is there a hernia support strap I can get to keep this under control until I have surgery. I will get referred to a Hernia Surgeon on March 14, 2017. 2. How long of a recovery time am I expected to need. 3. Will I be restricted from driving for I am expected to help my daughter move about 3 to 4 hours from where we both live now.

Hi,

It may take two weeks to drive you again, you can even go to your routine much earlier but it is better to give some time to proper healing.

You can check for physiotherapy to develop the muscle mass and avoid recurrent hernias.

The last thing is to avoid too much standing in a stretch, don't postpone the surgery too much.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
