Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Meprate is hormonal pill. It can cause hormonal imbalance in some females. Prolonged heavy menses are mostly due to hormonal imbalance. So better to consult gynecologist and get done clinical examination and hormone levels. She may need specific hormone pills to regulate hormones. Once her hormones are normalize, she will be alright.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
