How Can Headaches While Suffering From Sinusitis Be Treated?
i have had 2 sinus infections in the last 4 weeks and have been treated with antibiotics...however now i have developed a headache in the back of my head...and my mouth is so sore it is hard to keep my dentures in. are these also indicative of a sinus infection. or would it produce these symptoms. i have been trying to sleep in a more upright position...would this produce a headache?
Yes, your symptoms are probably due to sinus infection only causing headache as there are large sinuses present in the forehead area. Also, soreness in the mouth can be due to post nasal drip causing irritation of throat and mouth. You should consult an emergency room or a physician and get evaluated and a PNS View x-ray of sinuses can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly. A course of antibiotics like Cephalexin, anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen and along with it do steam inhalation, saline nasal irrigation and decongestant nasal spray like Otrivin.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
