How Can Hard Stool With Rectal Bleeding Be Treated?

Hi! i have a 6 year old daughter who only passes her bowel every 2 or 3 days. in her last two bowel movements, there was blood on the tissue after i wiped her anus. so i gave her lactulose which was prescribed before by her pedia when she had constipation. i gave 5ml for 2 consecutive days and then she still didnt pass so i made it 10ml but when she did, she moved her bowel 3 times that day, the first movement was very hard and with blood stain on tissue, the next one seemed ok, and the 3rd one was very loose and she experienced stomach cramps. after that day, it took 4 days before she had another bowel movement. from her last bowel movement, i gave her 10ml lactulose and today, the 4th day, i decided to give her 15ml. but when she finally had her bowel movement, the stool was still hard and with little blood stain on the tissue. what am i to do? i think i'm giving her fiber - spinach, oatmeal, pasta, potatoes, soy - and still she has hard stool.

Hello dear

Warm welcome to Healthcaremagic.com
I have evaluated your query in details .

* The constipation seems to be intestine motility or gut flora disturbances
from some sort of infection .

* Guidelines for better outcome

- Allow her plenty of liquids .
- Along with high fiber and lactulose , discuss with the doctor regarding
need of GI antibiotics , pro biotics for better coverage .

Hope this will help to clear your doubt .
Wishing her fine recovery .

Regards .
